Many businesses and restaurants are offering freebies and discounts for Veterans Day 2022.
Tips and drinks may not be included in the restaurant and service offerings, so plan accordingly.
This is not a comprehensive list. Offers may not be available locally, so check with your local restaurant or business to make sure they are participating. All offers listed are good for Friday, Nov. 11 only unless otherwise noted.
Most businesses require proof of military service, which can include military ID card, VA benefits photo ID card, VA Veterans ID card, state ID or driver’s license with military status, or a copy of your DD-214.
Applebee’s: All active military, veterans, reserve members and National Guard receive a full-size entrée from an exclusive menu. Dine-in only.
Buffalo Wild Wings: Free order of 10 boneless wings and fries for all past and present armed services members on Veterans Day. Dine-in or takeout.
Chicken Salad Chick: Free Chick Special and regular drink for all active military and veterans. Wear a uniform or bring a valid ID or DD214.
Dunkin’ Donuts: Veterans and active duty military receive a free donut of their choice, no purchase necessary.
Einstein Bros. Bagels: Free hot or iced coffee for active military and veterans with any purchase.
Golden Corral: On Monday, Nov. 14, veterans and active military are invited to enjoy a free meal from 5 p.m. to close.
IHOP: From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., veterans and active military will receive a free stack of Red, White & Blueberry Pancakes.
Little Caesars: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active military will receive a free Lunch Combo which includes a 4-slice Deep Dish pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi product.
Olive Garden: Free meal for all active-duty military and military veterans from a special Veterans Day menu.
Red Lobster: Veterans and active duty military will receive a free meal of Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, fries and coleslaw from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for dine-in and for to-go orders that are placed in the restaurant (not online).
Red Robin: Veterans and active duty military will receive a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries.
Ruby Tuesday: Veterans and active duty military can enjoy free access to the Endless Garden Bar.
Shane’s Rib Shack: Active, inactive and retired military personnel will receive one free pork or chopped BBQ chicken plate on Nov. 9, Nov. 10 or Nov. 11. In-store only.
Starbucks: Veterans, military service members and military spouses will receive a free tall (12-ounce) hot brewed or iced coffee.
Texas Roadhouse: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., military members and veterans can pick up a meal voucher to redeem for one of 10 entrees, two sides and a non-alcoholic beverage. The vouchers will be valid through May 30, 2023.
Wendy’s: During breakfast hours, veterans and active military will receive a free small breakfast combo that includes a coffee or carbonated soft drink, breakfast sandwich and seasoned potatoes.
Goods and services
Goodyear Auto Service: All active and former military (and first responders) receive free inspections on tires, brakes and batteries, as well as an additional 10 percent off tires and services.
Walgreens: From Friday, Nov. 11 through Monday, Nov. 14, all veterans, active military and their families will receive 20 percent off eligible regularly priced items. Valid in-store only.
Dollar General: From Thursday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 13, all veterans, active-duty military, National Guard and Reserve, and their immediate family members will receive 20 percent off on qualifying, in-store purchases. (Note: Eligible customers should first complete a military credential verification process online at www.dollargeneral.com/military and then add the discount as a DG Digital Coupon.
Great Clips: Veterans and active duty military will receive a free haircut or voucher. Vouchers are good for a free haircut anytime from Nov. 12 through Dec. 9.
Target: All U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families will receive 10 percent off two separate purchases in-store or online through Nov. 12. Some exclusions apply. To use the offer, shoppers must add their military status to a Target Circle account via the Target app or on Target's website.
