Thomas Emmett Lovett, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Piedmont Hospital in Newnan, GA surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 17, 1947, in Manchester, GA, one of four sons to the late Benjamin Barttee Lovett and Maefay Riggins Lovett.

Along with his parents, Tom as he was known by friends and family, is preceded in death by his stepson, Owen Marsh Roberts and brother, John Lovett. Tom is survived by his wife Carol Ann Lovett; children, Steven E. Lovett, Stephanie Lovett; grandchildren, Austin Drake Roberts, Kaitlyn Marie Roberts; siblings, Robert Lovett and Jack Lovett. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jack Owen and his wife Jenny, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Tom had a true passion for photography. He also enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. Tom was a proud alumnus of The University of Georgia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science degree. He was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church, where he attended the Henry Kitchen's Sunday school class. Tom was a caring and compassionate person, who loved being a husband, father and a truly loyal friend. Tom enjoyed playing poker, family genealogy and traveling. He loved to travel so much that he got his pilot's license at the age of 55. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

The funeral service celebrating the life Tom lived is Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Newnan First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville Street, in Newnan with Rev. Charles Robinson and Rev. Andrew Chappell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Woodbury Cemetery, in Woodbury, GA.
