Arbor Springs takes first place in Academic Bowl competition

Arbor Springs Elementary School recently took first place in the West Georgia RESA Academic Bowl finals.

The event, held at Brooks Elementary School, featured 12 teams from three divisions within the West Georgia RESA region. Three elementary schools from the Coweta County School System finished in the top four.

The championship Arbor Springs Elementary team consisted of Ford Heins, Caiden Millis, Avery Newingham, Harper Hardin, Sydney Armstrong, Brody Johnson and Jackson Marynowski. They were coached by Makenna Curry and Cindi Lanier.

Thomas Crossroads finished second, Heard County finished third and Elm Street finished fourth.

Other competitors were Bremen Academy, Brooks, Willis Road, Moreland, Canongate,

Coweta Charter, Welch and Hogansville. Twenty-four teams competed during the regular season, with the top four teams in each of three divisions qualifying for the finals.
