Waldrop outstanding graduate student at Mercer

Joey Waldrop of Newnan accepts his award at Mercer University’s 2022 Honors Convocation.

Mercer University recently honored Newnan resident Joey Waldrop at its 2022 Honors Convocation.

Waldrop received the outstanding graduate student award for the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Administration program of study.

Waldrop maintained a 4.0 GPA while working full time as a communications officer for Coweta County 911.

Waldrop is a lifelong resident of Coweta County who graduated from Newnan High School in 2003. He earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre studies from the University of Georgia in 2007 and was a member of the Bulldog basketball team from 2003-2005.

Waldrop resides in Newnan with his wife Courtney and his son Dorrian. He is the son of Tammy Waldrop of Senoia and Joseph Waldrop of McDonough, and the grandson of Kenneth Waller of Newnan and Hope Johnson of Colorado Springs.
