Former Lady Indian headed to D2 World Series

Last Friday, the North Georgia College Lady Nighthawks won their best-of-three series in the softball super regionals against Lincoln Memorial.

Included on the team is 2019 East Coweta graduate and pitcher Aniston Wright. The win sent North Georgia to the 2022 Division 2 Women’s College World Series.

The Lady Nighthawks will travel to Denver to open the championship tournament at the Assembly Athletic Complex. The other qualified teams include Adelphi, Rogers State, Southern Indiana, UT Tyler, Auburn Montgomery, Seton Hill and Cal State Dominguez Hills.

North Georgia (47-16) opens the championship tournament on Thursday when they face the Adelphi Lady Panthers (47-13) from Garden City, New York.

The 2022 champion will be crowned on May 30, 2022.
