Eighth grade students from East Coweta Middle School make their Our Core Business presentation at the Coweta County Board of Education’s December meeting. The students participated in a stock market simulation to strengthen their math skills. They researched and compared public and private companies, calculated gain and loss of sample stocks and then chose companies in which to theoretically invest. They then analyzed their progress and used math knowledge and research skills to determine best strategies for investing. They competed with other teams across the state and region using the growth of their investment portfolio.
