The Line Creek Shredders took 1st place out of 34 teams across the state in Division 2.

In addition, GCA had special end-of-the-year awards. The nominations were provided from over 700 hundred coaches from 68 teams across the state.

Two SWAY/GCA coaches received awards including Line Creek Shredders Coach Kurt Dorshimer who won Coach of the Year. Coach Kent McMullen of the Chattahoochee Grippers won the “Out of the Saddle Award."

Dorshimer congratulated his club riders for an incredible season, citing his pride in their accomplishments.

“They’ve all worked extremely hard and put the time in on the bike so it’s been awesome to see this growth throughout the season along with outstanding results,” he said.

After a challenging 2020 season with time trial race format, Dorshimer said it was great to be back to the normal head-to-head race format.

“This year we had forty-five middle/high school riders and thirty coaches across our four teams and look forward to expanding these further and developing new teams in 2022,” he said.

Dorshimer thanked the parents, coaches, community supporters and sponsors for their dedication and support this season.

“With their support we were able to achieve our mission of getting more kids on bikes while building strong minds and bodies through the sport of mountain biking,” he said.
