Newnan Kiwanis Club pays it forward

The Newnan Kiwanis Club held its annual Grant Night on Nov. 16 at the Newnan Utilities Cabin.

More than $150,000 was given to 31 local nonprofit groups from proceeds brought in by the annual Coweta County Fair that took place in September.

Representatives were present from Angel’s House, The Boys & Girls Club (Coweta Chapter), Boy Scouts (Coweta District), Brown’s Mill Battlefield Association, Carnegie Library Foundation, Coweta CASA, Christian City’s Children’s Village, The Continental Society of Newnan, C.O.R.R.A.L., Coweta County 4-H, Coweta FORCE, Empowered 4 Life, Family Patterns Matter, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FERST Foundation, Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity, Hope Revisited, Manna From Above, Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Newnan-Coweta Youth Association, One Roof, Patrons of The Centre, Puddle Jumpers, The Rutledge Center, Sisters for Society, Coweta County Special Olympics, Stepping Stones, the University of West Georgia, Walk of Faith House - Restored. Another $50,000 was provided for scholarships for graduating seniors from Coweta County high schools and a Christmas Shopping Spree for underprivileged children that will take place in December.
