Coweta’s flag football teams will be well represented heading into playoff season.

The Trinity Christian varsity flag football team recorded two shutout wins this week against their region competitors, Creekside and Fayette County, to clinch second place. The Lions beat the Tigers 21-0 and bested Creekside 20-0.

The 8-3 team are Division 2 Area 2 co-champs and are preparing for playoff action as they head to Lakeside-Evans to take on Lovejoy.

On Tuesday, East Coweta celebrated a 14-7 win over Northgate, handing the Vikings their only loss of the regular season. The game forced a three-way tie for first place between East Coweta, Northgate and Trinity Christian atop the Division 2, Area 2 standings.

For Senior Night, East Coweta dropped their match against Mary Persons on Thursday evening by a score of 7-0.

Newnan also clinched the No. 4 seed with a 5-3 record following a sweep of Banneker and Our Lady of Mercy.
