Northgate had two runners in the Top-Seven, Bryson Swartz finished fourth (in the middle) and Cater Robison 7rh (far left).

(Fayetteville, Ga.) – The Northgate Vikings boys and girls cross-country teams competed in the Region 2-5A region championships on Saturday at the Heritage Christian Church Cross Country course.

A top four finish in the seven-team region earned the team a berth to the GHSA state championship meet in Carrollton on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021.

The Northgate boys earned a berth with a third-place finish. Their top finishers included Bryson Swartz (fourth), Carter Robison (seventh), and Garrett Madden (15th).

The girls team just missed out on the state meet, they finished one spot out in fifth place. Their top finishers were freshman Alexis Wingenbach (sixth), Madison Duke (21st) and Abby Carr (25th).

Wigenbach’s finish, just one spot behind Whitewater’s Brianna Valadao, earned her a berth to individual state championships.
