For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Atlanta is hosting a series of virtual and in-person events to further education on breast cancer.
On Tuesday, Oct. 12, Cancer Fighters, a group of cancer patients providing support to one another, will hold a virtual panel, "The Not-So Scary Truth About Mammograms," on what to expect when receiving a mammogram.
The panel will be at 2 p.m. via Zoom. According to Cancer Fighters, annual mammograms are the most productive and efficient way for women to monitor breast health.

On Thursday, Oct. 14, CTCA will host an in-person breast cancer screening event from 2-6 p.m.
Physician referrals are not required. Most insurances are accepted, but the screenings will cost $99 for those without coverage.
Masks will be required, and there will be a brief COVID-19 screening upon arrival.

On Friday, Oct. 22, Cancer Fighters will host a second virtual Q&A panel on navigating a cancer diagnosis at 2 p.m. via Zoom.
The panel will feature physicians from CTCA's locations in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix to answer questions on cancer diagnoses of any type. Topics will include treatment, body image changes and sexual health challenges.

On Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. there will be a free 2-mile group walk on the LINC featuring music and giveaways. The walk, "Walk the Pink Pathway with Susan G. Komen," will educate attendees on how one person can make a difference in their community to create a future without breast cancer.
