Junior softballers get instruction from the State Champions

The reigning Class 7A state champion softball team had the opportunity to give back this past week at the 2021 Junior Indian Softball Camp.

Head Coach Franklin DeLoach welcomed a sold-out event to the East Coweta campus, which was held on the baseball fields for distancing purposes.

Coach DeLoach and the Lady Indians will be opening their regular season in August as they look to defend their 2020 state title from last season.

While graduation hit the Lady Indians hard, there is a solid nucleus returning with All-State pitcher Jaliyah Holmes and proven offensive talent in Emma Elrod and Kip Heggood. Other players to be counted on in the upcoming season include Ava Brooke Strickland, Karlie Gutierrez and Ansley Teteak.
