No matter which side of the aisle you are on, fossil fuels are a major part of our life, which reach way beyond the fuels our vehicles run on.
Let’s break down manufacturing consumables into two categories.
Category 1: Wood (comes from trees)
Category 2: Metals, rubber, plastics, stone, and glass (all derived from, or manufactured using fossil fuels).
Now, I ask that you start questioning where you would be without category 2? Imagine you return from a hard day at work, pull up into your driveway, get out of your vehicle, and step back for a minute. Ask yourself what would be left of your vehicle if you removed the metals, rubber, plastics, and glass? I don't think you would need fuel.
Walk into your home, and ask yourself the same questions. Imagine removing all of category 2, and ask yourself what would be left? Everything besides the wood framing would be gone.
Let's face it, our dependency on fossil fuels reaches way beyond the combustion engines, and if we don't wake up, our livelihood will be a thing of the past.
