New State Rep. David Jenkins, R-Grantville, was sworn in Monday to his District 132 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives. With Jenkins for the swearing in was his wife, Cat. New legislators were only allowed to bring one family member with them to the swearing because of COVID-19. On Wednesday, Jenkins appeared on Georgia Public Broadcasting’s lawmakers along with a new Democratic representative, Mandisha Thomas of South Fulton. Earlier in the segment, two new state senators were interviewed.
This is Jenkins’ first time in public office. Jenkins said he’s really enjoyed meeting everyone, and the staff at the capitol has been wonderful. “Government is all about relationships. I’ve certainly enjoyed building relationships this week, and I look forward to the session ahead,” he said.
