Can you tell us about yourself?

Hi, I am Katie Capshaw, owner of Ellie Mack! I was born and raised here, so having a store in the heart of Newnan is so special! My husband and I have been married for 5.5 years and have a handsome 1 year old Bennett who brings us so much joy! I am also a teacher in Coweta and have been in the classroom for 9 wonderful years!

What led you to open your business?

My passion for clothes and fashion, dreaming, and creating are what led me to open Ellie Mack!

Why downtown Newnan?

Downtown Newnan is home to me! It's where my family ate, gathered, and shopped growing up! I'm inspired by the wonderful community that is Newnan.

Who is your greatest inspiration?

From the usual customers to my friends and family, I get the most satisfaction out of seeing their smiling faces while providing products that make women in and around our small town feel beautiful inside and out!

Can you tell us about yourself?

I was born and raised in downtown Newnan and still living in downtown. I have a wife and two children, and we love to walk around town and hang out in our backyard. I love anything to do with cars, photography, art and food... in no particular order.
What led you to open your business?

I outgrew my studio in my house... or rather I was displaced by the addition of of children. I needed a place to paint, teach and show my work.
Why downtown Newnan?

My maternal grandfather owned the building and has passed it down. My parents ran a printing business there from 1985-1995. My parents were interested in the building being used to bring arts to the community.
Who is your greatest inspiration? My parents have always been a huge influence on me. The sacrifices they made for us and the bravery they showed to step out on a limb and pursue their dreams. I have always been inspired artistically by the architecture and history of downtown Newnan.

The Boyd Gallery is a working studio and gallery for David Boyd, Jr and Old Boyd. My sister Bonne also uses the space for tastings for her business, Beatutifully Baked by Bonne.
