The Heritage Hawks traveled to Columbus Friday night to face the St. Anne Pacelli Vikings (6-1). It was the first Region 4-A Private game for both teams and the first meeting between the two schools.
The Vikings used their power running game to overwhelm the Hawks on the way to a 35-14 victory. Pacelli had 317 total rushing yards, including 100-yard games from Elijah Jones and Pierre Summers.
For Heritage, Andrew Rich was the story. He scored both touchdowns, which were passes from quarterback Harris Celata. The first touchdown was a 92-yard screen pass that saw Rich allude or run past all 11 players on the Vikings defense.
The loss dropped Heritage to 0-8 for the season. Up next, the Hawks will face their crosstown rival, the Trinity Christian Lions (6-2). The last time they played three years ago, both schools were members of the Georgia Independent School Association. Trinity Christian cruised to a 48-6 win that night.
The Hawks will conclude their 2020 season at home the following week when they host the Brookstone Cougars.
