COVID-19 cases rise to 3,030 in Coweta

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Coweta rose to 3,030 over the weekend, with the Georgia Department of Public Health reporting 30 new infections since Friday.

Sixty-three Cowetans have died of the disease, according to the DPH.

Hospitalizations rose to 152 Monday and the case rate per 100,000 Cowetans is now 1,993 (+20).

Across Georgia, the DPH reported 362,921 cumulative cases on Monday and 7,999 total deaths, including 44 new deaths since Friday.

More than 31,700 people have been admitted to Georgia hospitals for COVID-19 treatment since the health crisis began, and 5,963 of those patients have been admitted to intensive care units.

According to statistics posted by the DPH Monday, a total of 3,596,700 molecular tests for active infections have been performed at drive-thru sites and facilities statewide, with a current positive rate of 9.4 percent.*

A total of 332,921 serology tests for antibodies from previous infections have been performed statewide, with a 9.1 percent positive rate.

*The number of positive tests is not the same as the number of cases. Some tests may not be reported to DPH through electronic laboratory reporting, and numbers may include multiple tests performed on the same individual.

The disease in the U.S. and worldwide
