Over a dozen people were arrested after police raided a suspected shot house.

Friday, members from the Newnan Police Department executed a search warrant for the home at 1 Central Park Court after receiving multiple complaints about illegal sales of alcohol at the residence.

While conducting surveillance of the house, police reported seeing people walking to the front door, knocking and then leaving with a beverage in their hand, according to the police report.

Those with drinks would either stand outside with the drink or leave with it.

Friday night, police entered the house and arrested 14 people for disorderly conduct.

According to Newnan City Ordinance 14-61 subsection 4, it is illegal to "be in or about any place, where illegal sale or possession of alcoholic beverages or narcotics or dangerous drugs is practiced, allowed, or tolerated, for the purpose of or intent to engage in the purchase, use, possession or consumption of such illegal drugs, narcotics or alcoholic beverages.”

Several attendees were arrested on violation of probation and other outstanding charges, according to police.
