A Newnan man has been charged with child molestation.
According to jail reports, 57-year-old Leslie Gene Patterson turned himself in to authorities on Thursday, Sept. 10.
The investigation began in July 2020 after a juvenile reported being molested by Patterson, according to Inv. Shawna Wade with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
Patterson was a known family acquaintance of the victim, but did not reside in the same home, Wade said. Another juvenile victim has come forward alleging they were also a victim of molestation by Patterson, according to Wade.
The case remains under investigation.
Patterson remains in jail after being denied bond by Judge Robert Stokely during a first appearance hearing on Sept. 11, 2020.
