Carnegie Library to introduce new Virtual Laptime program

Newnan Carnegie Librarian Teri Anderson will lead the new Virtual Laptime program for children ages 6 to 18 months.

The Newnan Carnegie Library’s Children’s Department is introducing a new Virtual Laptime program on Zoom for babies and toddlers.

The program is for children ages 6 to 18 months. It will include age-appropriate books, songs, nursery rhymes, movement and/or fingerplays. The program will run approximately 30 minutes in length.

Starting Sept. 29, Virtual Laptime will meet on Tuesday for 10 weeks. Participants can sign up through Eventbrite Sept. 8-22.

“I believe Laptime programs give a good foundation for children to grow up loving to read. It also helps to strengthen the bond between the child and the parent,” said Teri Anderson, the children’s librarian at the Carnegie Library. “This is why I always make sure parents know that they are participants in our program, not just an audience for their child.”
