Coweta COVID-19 count reaches 1,425

(Aug. 10, 2020) – Coweta County’s COVID-19 infections rose to 1,514 Monday, up from 1,503 on Sunday, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Hospitalizations remained at 99 and the case rate per 100,000 Cowetans rose to 996 (+8), according to the DPH. Twenty-two people have died from COVID-19 in Coweta.

Across Georgia, the DPH reported 219,025 cases Monday (+2,440), and 4,229 deaths (+32). The DPH also reported a total of 20,676 hospitalizations (+48) since the crisis began and 3,767 (+15) admissions to intensive care units.

According to statistics posted by the DPH Monday, a total of 1,861,962 molecular tests for active infections have been performed at drive-thru sites and facilities statewide, with a 10.8 percent positive* rate.

A total of 243,257 serology tests for antibodies from previous infections have been performed statewide, with a 6.9 percent positive rate.

*The number of positive tests is not the same as the number of cases. Some tests may not be reported to DPH through electronic laboratory reporting, and numbers may include multiple tests performed on the same individual.
