The NTH reported the passing of Mrs. Carol Rexroad in a full-page article in the Aug. 8 edition.

Mrs. Rexroad was the Founder of the pro-life ministry, Coweta Pregnancy Center in Newnan. I did not know Mrs. Rexroad personally, and after reading the accolades in the article, I realized I missed a great opportunity to know an extraordinary woman. Apparently her desire to protect and save the unborn came to fruition in the founding of the pregnancy center.

Over the past 13 years, the Sharpsburg Council Knights of Columbus has conducted an annual Charity Golf Tournament to help support many local charities including the Pregnancy Center. We’ve had the honor of meeting several members of the current staff at the CPC, and it’s been our pleasure to help them financially, even in a small way.

I’m confident that Mrs. Rexroad walked easily through the gates of heaven knowing she left a lasting legacy of grateful babies and moms in good hands.

The officers and members of Sharpsburg Council salute and thank Mrs. Rexroad and the CPC for a job well done.

Pete Darcy, Grand Knight
