Arnco Main Street bridge reopens

Rebecca Leftwich / The Newnan Times-Herald

The wooden bridge on Arnco Main Street over Norfolk Southern Railroad has reopened to traffic. Coweta County officials closed the bridge in May after loose deck boards raised concerns about potential injury or damage. The bridge – which is owned and controlled by Norfolk Southern – has been closed twice over the past few years, and at one time there were no plans to reopen it. Instead, the county has worked with the railroad to have the bridge repaired so it can be used until a new intersection project at Glover and Witcher roads is completed.
