Sharpsburg residents Luke Tidwell and Sydney Boyd are among new members of the Alpha Eta National Honor Society, inducted at Georgia State University's Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Boyd is a Nutrition Science major and Tidwell is a Physical Therapy major.
The Alpha Eta National Honor Society promotes and recognizes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction.
The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of Alpha Eta in March 1975.
Tidwell also was named winner of the Physical Therapy Achievement Award, in recognition of his 4.0 GPA as a graduating student in the program.
Tidwell’s award was presented during virtual Honors Day festivities at Georgia State’s College of Nursing and Health Professions in April.
