Piedmont Newnan has confirmed a second case of COVID-19 in Coweta County.
In a statement released Monday, Piedmont confirmed the hospital has now treated two patients who tested positive for COVID-19.
It was not known whether the second patient remains hospitalized, when he or she was treated or if the second patient has any connection with the first patient identified as a presumptive positive.
"One of those patients has been discharged to recover in isolation at home,” the statement read. "All testing and isolation protocols were followed in the care of these patients. As the situation evolves, we continue to work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Public Health to follow protocols for protecting our patients and employees.”
