Myron “Jake” Calhoun, 83, of Flat Rock went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Mission Hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Newnan, Georgia, he was a son of the late Frank and Jenny Lou Calhoun. Jake was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Randy “Doc” Westbrook; 2 brothers and 6 sisters. He had resided in Henderson County for the past 25 years.

Jake was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge #429 in Newnan, Georgia. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family, as his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his world.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sandie; daughter, Donna C. Westbrook; sons, Kevin Varble and James Varble (Traci); grandchildren, Ryan Nash, Brittney Westbrook Flowers, Casey Varble and Kaylee Varble; great-grandchildren, Jacob Nash, Zane Nash, Ryleigh Nash, and Charlie Flowers; sister, Tommie Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
