Overnight lane closures are expected all next week at the intersection of U.S. 29 and Herring Road in Madras.
The work will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. according to Penny Brooks, regional spokeswoman for the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Traffic operations technicians will need to perform maintenance on the traffic signal loops, which are embedded in the pavement and detect vehicles at the intersection.
There will be a lane closure to protect the workers, and signs, barriers and barrels will be used to shift traffic to the remaining open lanes.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and are urged to slow down and be alert when approaching the work zone.
