East Coweta splits with Troup

The East Coweta basketball teams split their non-region doubleheader with visiting Troup Friday night.

In boys action, East Coweta won for the fourth time in a row, defeating Troup 69-45 to improve the record to 7-1 overall.

East Coweta’s girls team dropped to 4-3 with Friday’s 72-51 non-region loss.

The East Coweta boys built a 40-28 lead at the half and extended it to 52-37 heading into the final period.

The Indians put the game out of reach by outscoring Troup 17-8 in the fourth quarter.

Three players finished in double figures for the Indians, including Chris Youngblood who poured in 24. Brandon Stroud added 11 and Christian Cook finished with 10.
