Thursday, Piedmont Healthcare announced it finalized a new contract with Aetna, which would ensure patients continued in-network access to all Piedmont Healthcare facilities and physicians.
Piedmont and Aetna reached this agreement five months before their current agreement was set to expire.
The agreement safeguards coverage for members and ensures access to Piedmont’s 2,300 physicians, 11 hospitals and 600-plus locations. Piedmont treats more than 2 million patients a year and serves communities that comprise 70 percent of Georgia’s population.
By completing this new agreement so far ahead of schedule, both parties are demonstrating their strong commitment to our patients and their concerns that their access to healthcare will be preserved, according to Kevin Brown, president and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare
