Tommy loved working in the yard, tinkering in his woodshed, reading and watching Westerns, traveling, University of Tennessee football and visiting home where he enjoyed most sitting on the front porch of his childhood home all with Zelia, but his passion was spending time with his family and friends. A kind, generous and humble man, he put his faith, family and others first. He was a storyteller, but also enjoyed a story from others recognizing the blessings of others. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

He served his country as an electrician in the United States Navy, before embarking in a career in the airline industry initially starting with Piedmont and finishing His career with US Airways.

Specific thanks to his friends Bruce, Buddy and Becky, along with the staff at Duke University and Piedmont Healthcare.
