More than 1,500 expected to graduate from Coweta public schools

More than 1,500 graduates are expected to participate in commencement ceremonies at Coweta County’s public high schools Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Commencement ceremonies for the Coweta County School System include:

• Newnan High School, Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Drake Stadium.

• Northgate High School, Friday at 7:30 p.m., Henry Seldon Field.

• East Coweta High School, Saturday at 9 a.m., Garland Shoemake Memorial Stadium.

Those planning to attend commencement ceremonies at Newnan and Northgate are urged to arrive early to secure on-campus parking. 

East Coweta is encouraging attendees to use off-site parking at Lee Middle School, Willis Road Elementary School and Poplar Road Elementary School that morning. Parking will be available beginning at 7 a.m., and shuttle buses will be provided to transport guests to and from the graduation ceremonies.

Handicapped parking is available on the main campus, but those who plan to utilize it should be prepared to arrive early. 

Coweta County School System students end their academic year on Friday.
