Maj. James Donald Neal (USAF Retired), 82, of Newnan, Ga. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2018.

Mr. Neal was born February 1, 1936 in McCaysville Georgia, son of Rev. Roy and Venus Neal.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sara Shirey Neal, and his brother, Allen Neal.

He is survived by their loving children, Debbie Neal of Newnan, David (Lisa) Neal of Powder Springs, Angie (JB) Brown of Hogansville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jim loved singing in the choir, golf, fishing and traveling with Sara; but his passion was spending time with his family.  A kind, generous and humble man, he put his faith, family and others first.  He spent more time listening than talking and loved to share in the blessings and successes of others.  He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Sharpsburg.

He served his country and traveled the world as a navigator in the United States Air Force for 21 years, then served in the U.S. Post Office for 19 years.

Visitation will be February 2 at 12 noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, and a graveside service immediately following in Franklin.
