Community Action for Improvement Inc. (CAFI) is opening its online appointment system for its Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

The program is for senior citizens over 65 starting Nov. 1 and will be open to the general public Dec. 1.

LIHEAP provides financial assistance to help offset electricity, gas and propane bills.

Appointments with CAFI are not accepted via phone calls, and can only be made online.

For those who need assistance with their application, CAFI encourages them to come in to its LaGrange office on Fridays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. This assistance is only available if the person does not have a computer, internet access or the knowledge to operate online.

CAFI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1966 and provides services to Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether and Troup counties.
