Local Stylist Nominated for international award

Sharon Tranter, a Newnan stylist originally hailing from Oxford, England, has once again been nominated for the NAHA (North American Hairstyling Awards).

Tranter was nominated in two categories and she’s been named one of eight finalists for International Hairdresser of the Year in Canada’s Contessa Awards. These industry awards are Canada’s most prestigious hair-dressing competition.

The nominations are based on high couture imagery that the hair stylist conceptualizes and develops by working closely with photographers, stylists and makeup artists to complete the look. Each category of Contessa accepts only eight nominees and these are chosen from thousands of entrees throughout Canada and the world.

The Contessa Awards and Gala will take place today at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto.

Tranter owns a salon in downtown Newnan and caters to a private client base.
