Miss Erin McGraw, middle and high school theatrical arts teacher for Pinecrest Academy, will be recognized at the Archbishop of Atlanta's Banquet for Catholic Education on Jan. 30.
Pinecrest is a private PreK3 through 12 Catholic school in Cumming. McGraw, formerly of Newnan, is the Honoree of the Year for 2015-2016 representing Pinecrest Academy.
The criteria established by the Archdiocese of Atlanta in selecting an honoree for the award included the following: served three years at the school; made a positive impact on staff, parents, and students; has been well recognized for contributions to the school; and, celebrates the values of Catholic education.
McGraw has made numerous contributions to Pinecrest Academy since 2008, including putting together nearly a dozen middle and high school drama productions, working with the liturgical music ministry, teaching at various grade levels, coaching tennis and overseeing student government.
McGraw was born and grew up in Newnan. The Newnan High School graduate went on to receive a bachelors degree in music at Converse College and a masters degree in music at the University of North Georgia. She is the daughter of Mike and Renee McGraw of Newnan.
