A public hearing on a 59 acre expansion of the Orchard Hills Business Park industrial area is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Coweta County Board of Commissioners.
The property, owned by the Albert Gould family, will be added to the existing industrial park, located on the site of the former Orchard Hills golf course.
The request is to rezone the property from Rural Conservation to Light Industrial. The property expands the park to the north, towards the West Georgia Technical College, and with future development, Campus Drive will connect to the site, according to the Coweta Community Development report on the rezoning request.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be held in the commissioner’s chambers, upstairs at 37 Perry St.
Other items to come before the board include:
• A public hearing on the 2019 millage rate. The county is proposing to adopt the rollback millage rate of 6.6 for the unincorporated areas and 7.46 for the incorporated areas.
• Approval of parks and recreation projects to be funded with the 2019 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. The 2019 SPLOST includes $2.7 million for parks and recreation projects.
