Empowered 4 Life is hosting their second annual charity golf tournament to raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Friday, Sept. 6, at 9 a.m.
The tournament will be held at the Coweta Club inside the Arbor Springs neighborhood on Highway 29.
“We’re doing it in honor of my son, Cameron, who is a cancer survivor,” said Derrick Teagle, director of E4L. “We decided to do a golf tournament to give back on a high scale.”
According to Teagle, the tournament last year raised approximately $10,000.
Participants in the tournament have a chance to win a first-place prize of $300, a second-place prize of $200 or a Toyota Tacoma if they make a hole in one.
E4L has provided athletic mentorship to more than 500 students in the last 10 years. Of those students, more than 250 have received athletic scholarships from colleges and universities, said Teagle.
