Dear Board of Education Members and Dr. Barker,

On behalf of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber Board of Directors, we would like to express our gratitude for the stellar job you do providing an outstanding learning environment for the students of Coweta County. We couldn’t be prouder! Through your leadership and dedication, our school system is recognized as one of the finest educational systems in the state, consistently operating with the highest ethical standards and commitment to excellence. We hope you know how very much you are appreciated by our community.

In response to the findings in the Wilson, Morton and DownsIndependent Investigation Report and subsequent events, we are deeply concerned and respectfully request the following:

1. That the Board of Education consider publicly censuring Ms. Linda Menk, the Board of Education member who failed to fully cooperate with the investigation.

2. That the Board of Education consider formally asking its attorney to work with local or state law enforcement agencies to launch an official investigation to determine if any laws were broken, and, if so, that the guilty parties be prosecuted and the money spent on the investigation fully recovered.

We are blessed to live and work in a vibrant and thriving community. We are blessed to work with a team of community leaders that collaborate for the greater good in a respectful manner. Our community certainly deserves better than the destructive and self-motivated behaviors demonstrated by a small group of troublemakers determined to undermine the good works of our school system and to malign the character and reputations of our superintendent and school system leaders.

Thank you again for the tremendous work you do on behalf of our students in Coweta County. We hope that you will give serious consideration to our requests.

Candace Boothby, President/CEO
