Wood has trained 30-plus years for job

After reading recent editorial letters in the NTH, I feel compelled to jump into the fray.

Some of the writers have urged  voters to go online – "coweta county sheriff candidates" – as it is well worth the time to see/ hear the qualifications, background and plans all  the candidates have to serve Coweta County.

As a lifelong resident of this county, I have seen several sheriffs come and go. Some I agreed with, and some I was glad to see move on. I am sad to see Mike Yeager give up the post, but happy for his achievement to serve as a U.S. marshal.

I am very pleased to support Lenn Wood for sheriff, a young man that I have watched grow into a position for which he has trained for 30 plus years. Lenn is the kind of man that any Mother would be proud to claim as a son.

Whatever your own personal choice, I encourage everyone to exercise the freedom to vote.  That freedom was set apart at a great cost to our nation. May God continue to bless America.
