A free “recovery messaging and language” training will be hosted Thursday evening by Coweta FORCE, the local recovery community organization.
The training session will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coweta FORCE offices at 48 East Washington St., Newnan.
The training will help community members learn how to use language to reduce discrimination and promote recovery from substance use and mental health challenges in a positive way, said Hank Arnold of Coweta FORCE, which stands for Friends of Recovery for Community Empowerment.
“As people in recovery and allies, our stories have power,” Arnold said.
The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse and Coweta FORCE will provide the training. Sen. Matt Brass, R-Newnan, will provide information on how to communicate effectively with your elected officials.
