Newnan sailor contributes to Navy’s operations
Petty Officer 1st Class Aiden Campbell, a Newnan native, joined the U.S. Navy to continue his family’s tradition of military service.
Campbell serves in Yokosuka, Japan, one of the world’s busiest maritime regions, as a mass communications specialist supporting the U.S. 7th Fleet.
Yokosuka’s strategic location allows and support capabilities allow U.S. naval forces to be 17 days closer to locations in Asia than their counterparts based in the continental U.S.
Campbell has served for 12 years.
Newnan native authors publication for U.S. Navy
Petty Officer 1st Class Ryan Litzenberger, a native of Newnan, pursued a career in the Navy in search of more variety in his day-to-day life.
Litzenberger serves as a mass communications specialist in Submarine Group 7 and U.S. 7th Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan, where he functions as the command’s deputy public affairs officer, dealing with photo and print requests and authoring and editing a monthly publication.
The U.S. 7th Fleet operates in 36 maritime countries with 50-70 ships and submarines, 140 aircraft and 20,000 sailors.
Litzenberger has served for five years.
