Friday, May 17th, 2019, Clarence "C.L." Vaughn passed peacefully from this life to his eternal home.
He surely is reunited with Catheryne, his wife of 70 years. Clarence was born in Heard County Georgia December 14, 1926, to the late Claude and Beaulah Dennis Vaughn.
C.L joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 where he served during World War II. At age 19, he met and married Catheryne Hubbard.
C.L was a local contractor in Coweta County for 45 years, having built and worked on many buildings and houses in the area. Every building had a story. Having him in the passenger seat meant that you would hear the story of every building and job he laid his hands on. He took pride in his work and believed that you were only as good as your word.
He will be remembered for his honesty, loyalty and dependability. He had a love of farming and gardening in his spare time, a hobby he continued into his 90's. He was always busy, believing that you never let the sun go down without a hard day's work behind you.
His love was expressed by his hard work and dedication to family.
He leaves behind a son, Rodney L. Vaughn, Sr.; three grandchildren, Rodney L. Vaughn, Jr., and Chris and Maria Cook’ two great-grandchildren, Ryan Cook, and Katie Cook; sisters, Nina Vaughn Roberson and Deloris Vaughn Davis; and many dear nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to him as "Pedro."
Funeral Services were held Sunday, May 19 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Terry Calhoun officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
