Richard Dean Terrell, 83, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by family.

He was born on April 12, 1936 in Charleston, Ill. to the late Wilbur and Jesse Terrell.

Dean, as he was known to friends and family, served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Dean worked for Ralston Purina Company for over 30 years in their accounting department. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, watching his granddaughter play sports, playing golf and cheering for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Atlanta Braves.

Dean served the Lord faithfully as a deacon at Cornerstone Bible Church and later at Mills Chapel Baptist Church.

The memorial service celebrating Dean’s life is Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Mills Chapel Baptist Church, 85 Country Club Road in Newnan with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. The family will greet friends Saturday, April 27 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan from 4-6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Dean’s name to Mills Chapel Baptist Church, 85 Country Club Road, Newnan GA, 30263.

Along with his parents, Dean is preceded in death by his son, Doug Terrell; and his brother, Ronald Terrell.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Innis Terrell; daughter, Deanna Terrell Runyans, her husband Mark and one granddaughter, Morgan Runyans.
