To Jack Bernard, Americans do not love Socialism.
They like free stuff and comfort. Having government run all aspects of our lives has proven not to work in every instance. The social programs that Democrats put in place such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security have improved American's way of life, but have become insolvent.
Democrats win on promising "free stuff" – socialism. We pay into Social Security, but the government is bankrupting it. Washington, D.C. – the leviathan – will never have enough money to feed itself. So on we go, with more and more social programs that once enacted can never be reversed due to human nature.
Can you name one program or federal department that is run smoothly besides the U.S. military, which unfortunately has its issues too? Both parties are guilty of letting our government get out of hand by not following the Constitution.
Even though the Clinton-Gingrich approach had some good ideas on the budget, our economy was saved mostly by the Tech Boom. Mr. Bernard, Americans love social programs even though we as a country cannot pay for them. But full Socialism when government controls your entire life is miserable and dangerous.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” – Samuel Adams
