Trio of arms help keep Westlake in check

East Coweta and Westlake might have been rained out on Friday, but the delay didn’t seem to bother the Indians who took care of business Monday afternoon in a 5-2 Region 2-7A victory.

Both teams finished with five hits each and East Coweta took advantage of three Westlake errors en route to the victory.

Three pitchers went to the mound en route to the victory with J.J. Freed picking up the win after tossing three innings and striking out one.

Quinlan Wiley and and Jacob Howell pitched in relief.

Wiley struckout two and Jacob Howell three.

Howell picked up the save with his one inning of strong relief pitching.

The Indians scored two runs in the top of the third, two in the fifth one insurance run in seventh.

Westlake scored a run in the bottom of the third and one in the fifth.

William Kelley, Ryan Dyal and Logan Frady drove in runs for the Indians.
