The Newnan Coweta Humane Society would be able to transport animals from the Coweta Animal Services shelter to outside adoption events, and then return them to the shelter, under a proposal to be considered by the Coweta County Board of Commissioners.

The request from the humane society is on the agenda for Tuesday’s commission meeting. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is held in the county commission chambers, upstairs at 37 Perry St., Newnan.

Other items to come before the board include:

• A request from the city of Newnan to annex 30 acres at 950 North Hwy. 29. The property, owned by Cathryn and William Sullivan, is proposed for the city’s RS-15 zoning district for a 40-unit subdivision. The residential subdivision would be accessed from Old Atlanta Highway.

Under state law, counties can object to annexations that meet certain criteria. However, this annexation does not meet those criteria, according to the Coweta Community Development Department’s report.

• A request to close portions of Luther Bailey Road and Old. Hwy. 85 on March 16 for filming by Gravitational Productions LLC.

• Appointments to boards and authorities.

• Approval of grant applications for the Coweta County Accountability Courts.
