Arnco Sargent Elementary School went into a “Code Yellow” safety protocol at 8:30 a.m. Thursday because of a burglary in the neighborhood. The Code Yellow situation was cleared at 9:05 a.m., according to text messages sent to parents.
According to the messages, the school’s safety officer received information about an incident being investigated.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the burglary at a home in the neighborhood so the security protocol was put in place, according to Coweta Schools Public Information Officer Dean Jackson.
The campus was secured and all staff and students were brought inside, according to a letter from Principal Vicki Vaughn.
