Frank Barron speaks to White Oak Golden K

Frank Barron recently spoke to the White Oak Golden K at its regular meeting.

Barron was born and raised in Newnan, and is a 1973 graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA degree and a major in real estate. He has been the principal broker for Lindsey's Inc. in Newnan since 1978, and has exceeded $1,000,000 in real estate sales every year since 1973. He has twice served as president of the local board of Realtors and served as regional vice president of the Georgia Association of Realtors. He was awarded the Phoenix Award from the local board of realtors in 1999, the Crystal Phoenix award in 2010, and obtained the Graduate Realtors Institute designation in 1974.

Barron is a past president of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce and the United Way, a past president of the Newnan Kiwanis Club, and past lieutenant governor of Georgia Kiwanis Division 23. He was named Coweta County Man of the Year in 1980. He was a member of the Wesley Woods Foundation for 10 years and is a former board member of The Heritage School and The Summit YMCA. He is an active member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, and was selected as the 2014 Citizen Of The Year for Newnan and Coweta County.

Married to Vicki (Wood) Barron of Newnan, he has one son, Frank H. Barron Jr. (Jess); one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Jenni and Bob Blackburn of Newnan; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Vic and Kim Ivery, of Newnan; and two step-grandchildren, Matt and Tori Blackburn. Frank’s hobbies include hunting, fishing and gardening.

Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home Inc. owners attend Georgia Funeral Practitioners Day

Octavia J. Mahone and Linette C. Ward, co-owners of Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home Inc. in Newnan, attended the Georgia Funeral Practitioners Day at the Capitol on March 5.  While at the Capitol, Mahone and Ward had an opportunity to meet and take a picture with Rep. Bob Trammell, D-Luthersville.
