Brooks blanks Mays with no-hitter

ATLANTA—Dalton Brooks pitched a no-hitter and the Vikings’ offense ripped 10 hits en route to a Region 5-6A game against Mays Monday night.

The Vikings took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and broke the game open with four runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to end the game by the mercy rule.

Brooks finished the game with eight strikeouts and no walks en route to the victory.

Elliott Vickery had the hot bat for the Vikings, finishing with a 2-for-2 performance and five RBIs.

Connor Mask also finished with two hits, scored three runs and had one RBI.

Donovan  Cash, Ryder Willard and Reid Fagerstrom also had RBIs.

The Vikings improved to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in the region .
