Trolley service officially kicked off Valentine’s Day with service between Newnan City Hall to Ashley Park.

Among the first to take a trip on the trolley’s maiden voyage were Iris Brenneman and her 92-year-old mother, Violet Breeden.

Both are natives of Minnesota who moved to the Brown’s Ridge neighborhood several months ago. Brenneman said she’s enjoyed living and Newnan and was excited to take a ride on the trolley.

“It was a beautiful day with lots of laughter and a really good feeling,” Brenneman said. “A lot of happy singing and we loved it very much.”

The free trolley service will operate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, between the hours of 1-8 p.m.

The Trolley service will provide transportation between historic downtown Newnan and Ashley Park, stopping at the following locations: LaGrange Street at Newnan City Hall, The Governor Ellis Arnall Parking Lot at the intersection of Madison and Perry Streets and “The Green” at Ashley Park, located between DSW and Monkey Joe’s.

The trolley will depart approximately 45 minutes in between stops.
